Gary SternOrganizational Development and Marketing
Gary J. Stern is president of Portland, Maine-based Stern Consulting International, specializing in governance, strategic planning, business planning and marketing with nonprofit organizations, congregations, associations and multi-sector collaborations. He is a former faculty member with STAR: Synagogues Transformation and Renewal, and has led strategic planning, marketing planning and leadership transition projects with synagogues and numerous other Jewish and secular organizations. Gary edited the 2nd edition of the Drucker Foundation Organizational Self-Assessment Tool, wrote the Tool Process Guide, and led the Drucker Foundation International Training Team. He is author of Marketing Workbooks for Nonprofit Organizations: Volume I: Develop the Plan (Second Edition, 2001), which was adapted as the official marketing workbook of United Way of America, and Volume II: Mobilize People for Marketing Success. Both are in circulation around the world. He is accomplished across the fields of education, youth development, arts and entertainment, publishing, health and human services, environmental protection, community development, professional associations, religious congregations, museums and gardens, international relations, philanthropy, nonprofit capacity building, and volunteerism.
